Job Description

We are a crowdfunded company with a dedicated and enthusiastic community of backers focused on creating the Best Damn Space Sim Ever. As a Technical Designer (Narrative) based in Manchester, you will be part of the Social Team, contributing to the storytelling elements of Squadron 42. This narrative-driven experience will include working on various game levels, ensuring the storyline is engaging and interconnected. Founded in 2012, Cloud Imperium Games specializes in developing cutting-edge videogames, including the record-breaking multiplayer online space sim, Star Citizen, and the cinematic single-player adventure, Squadron 42.

Requirements

What we expect from our Narrative Technical Designer:

• A passion for developing narrative scenes, scripted events, and player experiences, helping create living, breathing worlds.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to crafting cutting-edge story-focused games.
• Functional experience with game engines and visual scripting tools, such as Unreal Blueprint and Lumberyard Mannequin.
• Strong knowledge of at least one scripting language (Blueprint, C#, etc.).
• Ability to work seamlessly with other departments (AI, animation, code, level design, etc.).
• Self-motivated and proactive in finding solutions to issues and improving workflows.
• A strong interest in both the technical and creative aspects of game development.
