Job Description
We are looking for enthusiastic Content Designers to join our community in DWP Digital. The multidisciplinary teams use fresh ideas and leading-edge tech to build and maintain digital solutions that impact nearly every person in the UK. You will be part of our Gov.uk team, creating and managing guidance and tools that millions of people trust and use daily.
This role focuses on making content easy to understand through design and structure, whether it involves digital application forms, emails, or letters. You will prioritize user needs, ensuring customer interactions with government are as simple as possible, and utilize evidence to iterate on your content. Collaboration with a variety of stakeholders is important, requiring strong skills in framing and explaining your decisions.
Requirements
Your application will consist of three parts:

- Substantial experience of creating accessible, plain English content, following content processes and applying patterns and style guidelines
- Experience using quantitative and qualitative data to inform content decisions
- Able to showcase various ways of presenting, explaining, and testing your content
- Experience engaging in a community of practice, reviewing others’ content, and receiving feedback on your own content
- Collaborated with people in different disciplines
- Advocated for user-centred, evidence-based content with stakeholders
- Ability to articulate how your work contributes to achieving organizational outcomes
- A content design exercise (details provided in the application).
Additional Information
Location: Join in one of our digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, or Sheffield, based on convenience.
Hybrid Working: The role embraces a hybrid model; a mix of working from home and in-office collaboration.
Pay: Competitive salary of up to £45,081.
Pension: Civil service pension with employer contributions of 28.97%.
Holidays: Generous leave starting at 26 days, increasing to 31 days over time, with up to 3 extra days off monthly on flexi-time, plus public holidays.
