Department Description: 4Studio is the driving force behind C4’s digital acceleration strategy, aiming to create, adapt, and distribute brilliant content across our social and digital channels, fostering engaged audiences that deliver digital views at scale.

Job Purpose: Working with a dedicated content production team, the Video Editor, Food will create original social food content for various platforms. This role requires a passion and strong knowledge of food content across social media, technical versatility, and comfort in collaboration with production crews and stakeholders, alongside expertise in editing technology and Adobe CC.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit short-form, original food content for social media channels.
• Contribute ideas and translate these in a fast-turnaround production environment, adhering to a weekly production and publishing schedule.
• Master social-first editing techniques to capture audience attention quickly.
• Differentiate between successful and unsuccessful content ideas, understanding the nuances of various platforms.
• Edit longer-form food-focused entertainment content (a bonus).
• Liaise with internal teams and Channel 4 commissioners regarding content editorial.
• Manage competing demands from key stakeholders effectively.
• Work under strict timelines.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Demonstrable experience in social food content and strong video editing capabilities.
• Expertise in video editing with a solid understanding of social food content trends and techniques.
• Proficiency in Premiere Pro and ideally After Effects.
• Comprehensive knowledge of social food video content creation and social-first video editing.
• Expert understanding of post-production processes, including motion-graphics, color grading, data wrangling, ingestion, and distribution.
• Experience in editing creative projects to meet briefs.
• Able to edit topical food content quickly to stay on top of trends.
• Strong awareness of best practices across multiple platforms and technical specifications.
• Thorough understanding of workflows, processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Experience working for a broadcaster, social publisher brand, or agency environment.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required by production schedules.
• Proven ability to build close working relationships and communicate effectively across departments.

Additional Information

Hybrid Working: From September 2023, employees will work a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, with the remaining 2 days working from home. There is also a policy for working from another location for up to 10 days. This arrangement is subject to future changes which will be communicated in advance.
