Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated WordPress Developer to join our startup team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in web development and experience with creating engaging and user-friendly websites. Interface with our marketing lead will be a must, and cooperation to this is expected. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a WordPress site, ensuring the site is optimized for performance and SEO. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and creativity to deliver high-quality web solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites according to client specifications.
  • Collaborate with designers and other developers to create responsive and visually appealing web interfaces.
  • Implement SEO best practices to enhance website visibility and search engine rankings.
  • Utilize frameworks such as Bootstrap to ensure mobile responsiveness across all devices.
  • Write clean, maintainable code using PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services using SOAP when necessary.
  • Manage server configurations and deployments using tools like Ansible.
  • Participate in system architecture discussions to improve site performance and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to WordPress sites promptly.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in WordPress development with a strong understanding of the platform’s architecture.
  • Experience with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React.
  • Familiarity with MVC design patterns and server-side scripting languages such as Python.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and techniques to optimize website content effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and clients seamlessly.
  • A portfolio showcasing previous WordPress projects is highly desirable.
  • Ability to interact with founders and marketing leads.
  • Ability to work independently, be a self-starter and bring ideas to the table.
