Job Description

Artist Jill Impey is seeking an energetic and creative Producer to support her Timelines project. The Producer will focus on inclusivity, intersectionality, joy, and meaning within their practice. The role is flexible and will be on a freelance basis, based in the West Midlands, requiring approximately one day a month over 12 months. The position is contingent upon the Artist securing funding. The successful candidate is expected to attend an important meeting on 24th April 2025 and will be compensated £150 for their participation.

Requirements

Essential

• Experience in planning and delivering world-class or city-based events and immersive experiences.
• Knowledge and experience in planning and delivering inclusive and accessible events.
• A good understanding of immersive media arts.
• Experience in managing budgets.
• Strong negotiation and diplomacy skills with organizations.
• Effective promotional and social media skills.
• Ability to work within a slow-paced project and with neurodivergent artists.
• Excellent communication with artists and arts organizations.

Important

• Existing relationships with arts organizations and potential funders.

Desirable

• Knowledge or experience of playful engagement with individuals and organizations.

Project Information

Timelines is an inclusive, immersive timeline installation currently in development, aimed at educating and engaging audiences on positive futures for all. The project features four intersectional timelines covering various histories: Land and Environmental, LGBTQ+ and Women’s, Black and Colonial, and Neurodivergent and Disability histories. The installation is enriched through gamified elements and collaboration with diverse artists from various countries, while incorporating digital interactions like animation, VR, and AR.

Timelines has potential for expansion beyond previous projects managed by Jill. She aims to collaborate extensively with organizations, artists, and audiences to achieve the project’s full potential, requiring strong support from the Producer.
