Job Description

We’re seeking collaborative freelance illustrators to join our creative team for preferably 6 months to 1-year commitments, with ongoing renewal, to create brand-based illustrations for use in educational products. Imagine Learning (IL) is a leading digital education technology company focused on developing digital curriculum and tools for K-12 students. Our company ethos emphasizes rigor, engagement, and, most importantly, collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Be a great, collaborative illustrator who can bring a high level of illustration abilities to our products

• Work closely with the creative team and support the illustration needs company-wide

• Create illustrations for use in both print and digital products adhering to all brand and project guidelines

• Create illustrations on schedule, in a deadline-facing environment

• Creative mindset, conceptual skillset, and a mastery of color, shape, and form

• Will require mockups, storyboarding, and revision rounds before final delivery

• Project ownership and project collaboration are vital to our process

• Ensure all illustrations meet quality standards at each stage of creation and development

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience working as a professional illustrator for a company, design firm, or advertising agency

• In-depth knowledge and experience using illustration applications and the Adobe creative suites (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)

• Great communication skills and an openness and investment in team collaboration

• Will require own laptop

• Bonus: experience in creating illustrations for children’s products

• Bonus: experience in using AI image creation applications (Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, Runway, etc)

• Must be a U.S. citizen and based in the United States

• All resumes MUST include an online portfolio link with illustration samples that display a range of illustration skills. We cannot consider any resumes if they do not include a link to an illustration portfolio (it’s preferable if it is a live link).

Other Information

This is a remote or virtual, part-time or full-time position. TBD hourly, depending on experience level.
