Job Description
A Technician is responsible for the set up and operation of basic / small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director of Event Technology.
Responsibilities
- Ensures a flawless event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of audiovisual equipment.
- Strives to exceed customer expectations and needs.
- Maintains positive relationships with clients through effective communication.
- Meets with guests on site to address their needs and ensure proper equipment setup.
- Monitors events and checks in on customers throughout the day.
- Handles equipment challenges and changes professionally and promptly.
- Follows company processes and completes necessary systems entry and paperwork accurately.
- Utilizes floor up-selling techniques to increase revenue.
- Finalizes invoices with clients and completes order entries in Navigator as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
- 1 year of audio-visual experience or equivalent schooling preferred.
- A valid driver’s license is required for team members operating company vehicles.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- External applicants must complete training and certifications required for this position within one year.

Physical Requirements
Team members must meet the physical demands outlined below:
- Sitting: 2-3 hours

- Walking: 4-5 hours
- Lifting Requirements: 0 - 15 lbs (Continuously), 16 - 50 lbs (Frequently), 51 - 100 lbs (Occasionally), Over 100 lbs (Occasionally)
- Auditory/Visual Requirements: Close Vision (Continuously), Distance Vision (Continuously), Color Vision (Frequently), Peripheral Vision (Occasionally)
- Pushing/Pulling Requirements: 0 - 15 lbs (Continuously), 16 - 50 lbs (Frequently)
Work Environment
Work is performed in hotel/convention center environments as well as in a warehouse. Team members will use high-end audio-visual equipment and will be exposed to varying conditions. Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Salary and Benefits
Hourly Pay Range: $15.09 - $18.49. Compensation is based on qualifications, location, travel, and experience. Additional compensation may include overtime, bonuses, or incentives. Encore is committed to providing competitive benefits options for employees and families.
