About Sonovy: Sonovy is a music distribution startup with offices in New York and Istanbul, developing innovative solutions for music distribution. Sonovy aims to provide various distribution solutions to artists and labels with a technological infrastructure that enhances operational processes in the music industry.

Position Overview: This role is aimed at an experienced professional responsible for developing new business partnerships and managing operational processes. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of music distribution, copyright management, and metadata processes, along with strong industry connections. This position includes providing strategic consultancy to help shape Sonovy’s global vision.

Responsibilities

Business Development & Partnerships

• Develop new B2B business partnerships within the music distribution ecosystem.
• Utilize global and local networks to create new opportunities.
• Build sustainable relationships with corporate partners.
• Represent the company at industry events.

Operations & Process Management

• Oversee the technical and operational management of music distribution processes.
• Ensure metadata processes are accurate, consistent, and aligned with DDEX standards.
• Work closely with internal teams to efficiently manage the distribution infrastructure.
• Lead processes related to copyright management and content rights tracking.

Strategic Support & Consultancy

• Contribute strategically to the development of new services (such as publishing and sync services).
• Provide insights to senior management by tracking industry changes.
• Contribute to the company’s global growth plans.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in music distribution.
• Deep knowledge of copyright and music rights management ecosystem.
• Expertise in metadata management, validation, and quality processes.
• Ability to manage quality control processes end-to-end.
• Advanced written and spoken English communication skills.
• Based in New York or Istanbul, or able to work from these locations.

Preferred Skills

• Strong network and experience working with reputable music companies.
• Experience with DDEX standards and proficiency with the infrastructure.
• Previous experience working with CMOs (Collective Management Organizations) and PROs (Performing Rights Organizations) on publishing rights.
• Experience in international licensing and content management.
• Experience working with YouTube CMS or similar systems.
