Job Description

Hours: Freelance or part-time basis with flexible working hours 2-4 days per week (Possibly leading to a full-time role). Working Hours are flexible (daytime, evening and weekends available).

Location: UniQ Studios, South-East London.

UniQ Studios is looking for a talented Front End Web Designer / Graphic Designer to work on a per-project or per hour basis. The role is ideal for a freelancer who wants regular work and income (with 2-4 days guaranteed work per week) while also remaining independent with other client work. You will have the flexibility to work from home but must be based in London (or nearby) and willing to work from our South-East London office when required.

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the professional delivery of diverse marketing and communications materials in both print and digital media. This role is primarily a design position rather than deep back-end coding/development, ideally suited to a design graduate or someone with a design-related academic background and technical knowledge in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. Some PHP knowledge/experience would be advantageous but is not essential. An exceptional web and print design work portfolio will be a key factor in the selection process.

Job Responsibilities

Main tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Develop and adapt design concepts from creative leads and briefs.
• Develop and maintain the Company’s brand, look, and feel across various in-house websites and marketing materials.
• Communicate and liaise with clients and web developers, providing appropriate feedback as necessary to progress and complete projects.
• Produce wireframes and detailed layered Photoshop graphics for web development.
• Manage briefs and timelines, advising the creative director of time issues and/or concerns that arise.
• Perform quality control and multi-browser testing.
• Create and modify spreadsheets for web content uploads.
• Multitask and handle several projects simultaneously, ensuring excellent quality delivery.
• Digital content may include front-end website design, web-based adverts, website imagery, button design, page layouts, mini-site design, e-newsletters, HTML emails, adverts for social networking sites, and visual diagrams.

Job Requirements

• Experience using Wordpress and Magento.
• Competence in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Understanding of design and layout principles.
• Motivated and positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to take initiative.
• Strong communication skills with good written and spoken English.
• Natural creative flair with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
• Knowledge/experience in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
• Must be a completer-finisher.
• Experience using Joomla is desirable but not essential.
• Strong PHP and back-end coding knowledge/experience is desirable but not essential.
