Job Description
Next Level Games is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nintendo Co., Ltd, passionate about video game development for 20 years. We are seeking an experienced Technical Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will help establish and maintain the level creation pipeline, bridging the gap between tech and design teams, while supporting the development of level-specific features and promoting shared tech solutions. Responsibilities include maintaining technical standards, testing new features, and establishing best practices.
Requirements
• 1-2 shipped games, or 2-4 years of industry experience
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to think about long-term implications of tools and feature changes
• Understanding of Python
• Experience in text-based scripting and working with animation state machines
• Knowledge of C / C++, C# / .NET
• Desire and ability to support content creators
• Strong multi-discipline problem-solving skills
• Works well in a multi-discipline team environment
• Organized and self-motivated
Nice to Have
• Experience with Houdini
• Substance Designer experience
• Environment art and prop creation experience

• This is a hybrid position, requiring at least three days per week at our Vancouver studio
• The hiring range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 CAD annually, subject to change based on factors like skills, education, and experience
