Job Description

Call for Freelance Designers

Provoc, a strategic marketing and communications firm specializing in outcome-driven design, is building our bench of freelance designers for various communication projects with nonprofits, foundations, and other clients advocating for equity and social justice. This role is not a full-time position and designers will be engaged on a by-project contract basis as future opportunities arise.

We are looking for a diverse team and strongly encourage submissions from individuals with different perspectives, particularly from people of color, 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, women, nonbinary individuals, people with disabilities, and other historically underrepresented groups.

Requirements

Designers should possess experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Logo design
• Websites and user interface design, including UX and UI design with an understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2)
• Campaign identity and collateral
• Reports and toolkits, including infographics and data visualization

Additional skills and specializations that are being sought include:

• Creative direction
• Animation
• Illustration
• Motion graphics and video
• 3D graphic implementation

Applicants should be proficient in design tools such as:

• Adobe Creative Suite
• Figma
• Canva
• Google documents (Docs, Sheets, Slides)

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Creating brand style guides, print and digital collateral, and templates
• Performing design reskins and full redesigns for websites
• Engaging in wireframing, prototype testing, and usability testing
• Developing social media graphics and templates
• Producing video treatments and motion graphics
• Designing publications, reports, and infographics
• Staying updated on current design trends and accurately estimating project timelines

Availability should primarily fall between 8 AM - 8 PM ET, Monday to Thursday, to collaborate effectively with U.S.-based clients and colleagues.

Collaboration Approach

At Provoc, we leverage a fully remote collaboration model using tools like Slack, Basecamp, and Zoom to engage with clients and each other. Most designers operate in U.S. time zones while collaborating asynchronously with international team members.
