Job Description

We are seeking a creative and driven Social Media Creator to support Brainly’s marketing team! This person is responsible for crafting short-form video content targeting a Gen Z and younger audience, developing social media strategies, and actively managing engagement across our social platforms. This is a flexible, fully remote freelance position ideal for current college students or recent graduates who want hands-on experience with brand marketing.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Based in the U.S. (East coast)
• Basic video editing skills using tools like CapCut, Canva, Adobe Rush, or similar
• Knowledge of best practices for social media engagement (hashtags, timing, captions)
• Proven experience creating short-form video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts
• Active personal or professional social media presence with examples of original content
• Familiarity with social media posting, either personal or brand-related
• Strong understanding of social media trends and culture, especially TikTok and Instagram
• Ability to write engaging, concise captions and comments tailored for Gen Z audiences
• Creative thinker: consistently brings fresh, fun ideas to the table
• Self-starter: able to work independently, meet deadlines, and take initiative
• Reliable communicator: responsive via email or chat, and open to feedback
• Passionate about social media and how it can be used for learning and connection

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current college student or recent graduate
• Collaborative mindset: enjoys brainstorming and sharing ideas with a team
• Enthusiastic about education and helping students succeed
• Curious and eager to grow skills in digital marketing or content strategy
• Experience managing or contributing to a brand or student organization’s social media account
• Prior freelance or part-time work in marketing, content creation, or community management
• Familiarity with social media scheduling tools
• Understanding of basic analytics (views, likes, engagement rate) and how to adjust strategy based on performance
• Awareness of educational trends or content in the edtech or student life space

Responsibilities

• Produce 2-3 original short-form videos per week (TikTok, Reels, Shorts)
• Incorporate trending sounds, formats, memes, and educational content
• Research trends, similar content, and audience preferences
• Suggest creative ideas for campaigns or series (e.g., study tips, relatable student life content)
• Comment on relevant videos/posts, reply to comments on Brainly content
• Repost, duet, or stitch with trending content or creators in the education space
• Help foster an active, positive community by interacting with followers

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
• Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
• Flexible schedule
• Choose your own hours
