Job Description

Contract Length: 3 months (Inside IR35) with possible extension.

Day Rate: £500-£600.

Location: Hybrid – 1 day per week in London, Glasgow, or Cardiff.

Are you a passionate UX Designer looking for an exciting contract opportunity? You will help in shaping accessible and user-centred digital services while mentoring the next generation of designers.

In this role, you’ll be a key practitioner, collaborating with user-centred design teams and multidisciplinary digital delivery teams to enhance digital services. You’ll lead highly complex interaction design projects, driving best practices and advocating for accessibility and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead interaction design across multiple services.
• Shape design concepts with Product Managers & Service Owners.
• Mentor junior designers, supporting their professional growth.
• Champion accessibility and user-centred approaches.
• Drive best practice within their interaction design community.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Senior UX/Interaction Design role.
• Expertise in the GDS Design System & prototyping kit.
• Strong background in Service Design, Content Design, and User Research.
• Experience working to the GDS service standard.
• Ability to engage and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• A leader who inspires design excellence across teams.
