Job Description
Newmarket Holidays is seeking a talented UX/UI Designer for a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the opportunity to work in-office or hybrid (Mondays and Wednesdays in the office) from Wallington, London (Zone 5). As the sole product designer, you will collaborate closely with various teams to enhance the website and booking journey, leading initiatives that aim to improve the digital experiences of thousands of travellers.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with the Head of Ecommerce, Website Manager, and Business Analysts to redesign key areas of the website and booking flow.
- Leading the development and evolution of the design system for consistent, scalable user experiences.
- Creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs in Figma.
- Preparing thorough documentation for handover to developers and reviewing outputs before release.
- Owning end-to-end design for new digital products and features.
- Presenting design concepts to stakeholders and iterating based on feedback.
- Supporting the Ecommerce team with digital initiatives like email design and campaign assets.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate who possesses:
- A strong UX thinker with sharp UI skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to work within brand guidelines while providing innovative solutions.
- Confidence in collaborating across various teams including ecommerce, marketing, and design.
- A champion for design systems, valuing consistency, clarity, and usability.
- A basic understanding of accessibility best practices and a commitment to inclusive design.
- Highly organized approach with clean design files and smooth development handovers.
- Proficiency in Figma, experienced in prototyping and testing.
- 5+ years of experience designing for ecommerce websites, especially in travel, hospitality, or lifestyle industries.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience designing booking flows or checkout journeys (evidence required in portfolio).
- Experience designing for older demographics is advantageous.
- A passion for travel is a bonus.
