Description

Under general guidance and direction of the DCR Product Manager and Engineering Lead, the DCR Network Engineer is required to actively plan and manage the delivery of the network aspects of the DCR being delivered by JP9131 Tranche 1 that is within the remit of Cyber Operations Systems Program Office (COSPO).

To be successful in the position, the DCR Network Engineer is required to understand how the cyber range operates and have a strong appreciation for what is required to support its sustainment of functionally and implementation of enhancements.

The DCR Network Engineer is responsible for leading, planning, executing, managing and monitoring the DCR design through to delivery, and according to predetermined timelines and budgets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Elicits and documents DCR system network requirements for review and approval as per the Engineering Management System.
• Develops DCR network designs, that meet requirements and takes into account takes into account target environment, performance and security requirements, and existing systems as per the Engineering Management System.
• Recommends/designs structures and tools for systems which meet business needs and takes into account target environment, performance security requirements and existing systems.
• Creates solutions which balance business requirements with information and cyber security requirements.
• Identifies security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommends changes or enhancements.
• Translates logical designs into physical designs and produces detailed design documentation in collaboration with the DCR System Architect and DCR Infrastructure Engineer.
• Reviews current system designs, recommends and implements enhancements.
• Provides guidance and supervision to DCR technical staff to implement DCR network designs.
• Liaising with all project stakeholders.
• Identifies and develops improvements to workplace processes related to areas of duty.
