Job Description
This is a remote position. Our client, a top-tier global consultancy, is delivering a strategic Proof of Concept (PoC) for a major European bank. The initiative focuses on process mining and optimization of the Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process using Celonis. We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer with hands-on experience in Celonis EMS, capable of driving data preparation, model building, and visualization for process intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
Celonis EMS – Process Mining & Optimization
- Lead the end-to-end Celonis integration: data extraction, transformation, loading, and model creation.
- Define and implement new Celonis activities and process KPIs to monitor P2P or claims processes.
- Build impactful dashboards and visualizations in Celonis for stakeholders and leadership.
- Leverage process mining to identify hidden inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and compliance risks.
- Conduct training sessions for business users and junior data analysts on Celonis usage.
Data Engineering & Modeling
- Prepare robust data pipelines and models across multiple systems (SAP, SQL, Salesforce, etc.).
- Utilize dbt to implement versioned and snapshot-based data models, supporting historical tracking and feature generation.
- Perform data reconciliation using Databricks notebooks, ensuring accuracy and auditability.
Data Visualization & Reporting
- Translate process data into actionable insights using Power BI and Celonis.
- Design and maintain interactive dashboards for P2P or claims process monitoring.
- Prepare and optimize Power BI datasets for seamless reporting layers.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on process mining.
- Proven project experience with Celonis EMS, including data modeling and dashboarding.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, ETL frameworks, and working with large datasets.
- Familiarity with Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) or other financial process domains.
- Ability to navigate enterprise-level data environments (e.g., data lakes, data warehouses).
- Previous experience in the banking or financial services sector is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills in English; ability to work in a cross-functional consulting setup.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to other process mining tools (e.g., UiPath Process Mining, Minit).
- Knowledge of BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and Python for data manipulation.
- Understanding of banking regulatory and data security standards.
