Job Description

Contract, Remote – Starting Budget: $400–600/month

Estimated Start: June 2025

Obscurix is a fast-growing content brand publishing deeply researched articles on true crime, dark history, paranormal phenomena, and strange-but-true facts. Our evergreen content — including statistical breakdowns of serial killers, last meals on death row, and bizarre historical practices — is already ranking on Google with zero backlink support. We’re now ready to scale organic reach through strategic, white-hat link building.

Responsibilities

Research and identify backlink opportunities through:

• Guest posting
• Manual outreach to bloggers, indie media, and podcasters
• HARO, Featured, or Terkel-style journalist responses
• Pitch and negotiate placements in relevant niches: true crime, paranormal, history, and oddities.

Vet all link opportunities for:

• Real traffic (1,000+ monthly visitors preferred)
• Clean backlink profiles (no spam/PBNs)
• Domain relevance and quality (DR30+, preferred DR40–60+)

Collaborate with our content team to craft outreach angles and optimize anchor text. Report on placements monthly (with URLs and metrics).

Qualifications

• Proven experience building white-hat backlinks through guest posts, HARO, or digital PR (no link farms or PBNs)
• Strong portfolio of live backlinks earned, especially in content, culture, or lifestyle niches
• Comfortable writing or editing outreach emails and coordinating with editors
• Familiarity with tools like Ahrefs, BuzzStream, Hunter.io, or GSC
• Bonus: Knowledge of true crime, pop culture, Etsy/blog ecosystems, or Reddit engagement

• Have built links for content sites, niche brands, or thought leadership campaigns
• Love researching niche blogs, Reddit newsletters, or indie outlets
• Can handle 5+ links/month consistently (more later)
• Want to help shape an emerging brand with strong creative freedom
• Communicate reliably and proactively
