Job Description
Client is a high profile sports / lifestyle organisation. The position is for an initial 3-month contract, likely to extend to 12/18 months. The target start date is Monday 21st July. The role involves building an entire greenfield set of products including a Web App, Mobile Apps (Android and iOS), and a Platform. You will be joining a cross-functional team of 12, which includes engineers, delivery lead, product, product design, and QA. Immediate interviews are available, and the role is offered as a Ltd company outside IR35 or as an Umbrella contract with a competitive day rate. The role requires in-person working 2 days a week in London and the client office, located outside London towards the midlands.
Requirements
The Senior Product Designer should focus on:
- Successfully delivering client outcomes within a cross-functional team.
- Consulting with client stakeholders to execute their product and design strategy.
- Evangelising Human-Centred Design, Design Thinking, Lean, and Agile methodologies.
- Supporting the growth of more junior product designers.
Key Responsibilities include:
Discipline Expertise
- Lead product discovery and design sessions with clients and users.
- Create and implement the design strategy from discovery through to delivery.
- Focus on end-user needs to deliver impactful products.
- Create prototypes for testing and iterate based on feedback.
- Work on design and front-end implementation within a cross-disciplinary team.
- Design and facilitate workshops and design sprints.
- Make data-driven decisions for designs using Agile/Lean methodologies.
- Ensure the proposed design balances business goals, technical constraints, and user needs.
Collaborative Leader
- Influence stakeholders and obtain early buy-in for design processes and outcomes.
- Coach clients and teams in Design Thinking, Lean, and Human-Centred Design.
- Influence product roadmap activities and backlog prioritisation.
Client Influencer
- Communicate designs and decisions with a broad range of client stakeholders.
- Align client stakeholders on product and creative strategies.
- Advocate for user-centred processes in clients’ digital products.
- Establish trust with clients to deliver business and user value.
Build Red Badger’s Product Capability
- Contribute to the development of the product design discipline at Red Badger.
- Support the development of Red Badger’s design approach and strategy.
- Proactively share knowledge with the rest of the Product team.
Your Experience
It would be beneficial to have:
- Experience in lean/agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
- Working knowledge of industry-standard tools (e.g., Figma).
- Led product design implementation in a cross-functional team.
- Experience presenting design concepts to stakeholders.
- Designed mobile-first and mobile-native digital products.
- In-depth knowledge of Human-Centered Design, Design Thinking, and User Experience Design.
- Deep understanding of Brand application and UI design.
- Experience with design systems such as Atomic Design.
- Working knowledge of User research and User testing.
