Job Description

Joining as a Senior Analyst, within the Enterprise Data and Information Services team of the Technology business unit at LPL Financial, you will be responsible for gathering requirements, managing product backlogs, and assisting customers with their technology needs. The position includes performing data mapping and query analysis to support report development and maintenance, as well as team coordination for design, development, and release activities. The candidate should be capable of developing a vision for high-quality products and ensuring that vision and success criteria are met.

Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements from users; document analysis using business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
  • Schedule and lead requirements and design discussions with customers of all levels throughout the company, including executives.
  • Innovate on out-of-the-box solutions that leverage holistic knowledge of various use cases.
  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
  • Perform query and reporting analysis; document data sources and mappings to support reporting and other data requirements.
  • Be a liaison between the application development team, other technology teams, and project and relationship managers.
  • Manage and ensure requirements are met throughout the SDLC process by participating in design discussions, QA, UAT, and deployment.
  • Translate business requirements into solutions and analyze tradeoffs between effort and return on value. Communicate these tradeoffs with the project team and stakeholders.
  • Ensure requirements and test cases have appropriate sign-offs and solutions are effective. Actively resolve issues when clarification is needed or facilitate sign-off on test cases.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science or related field, business administration or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL queries, report writing, and presenting findings is a MUST.
  • 5+ years of experience functioning as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst within a mid to large organization.
  • 5+ years of experience with requirements gathering and management in Agile and Waterfall project approaches.
  • 3+ years of experience using JIRA, Aha!, or other project management tools.

Core Competencies

  • Expert written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups, including executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Experience in non-functional requirements gathering, traceability, and UAT coordination and support.
  • Demonstrable facilitation and leadership skills in requirements solicitation and review (user interviews).
  • Ability to engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously; comfortable in rapidly changing and ambiguous work situations.
  • Keen attention to detail and complex problem-solving abilities from operational and technical perspectives.

Preferences

  • 2+ years of experience with contextualization of MDM subjects for adjacent areas of research (data governance, metadata management, data quality, and data fabric), maintaining a view across a broad spectrum of technology markets.
  • Experience with the Financial Industry is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of enterprise integration tools, ETL, and ELT.
  • Experience in Agile development methodology/Scrum is preferred.
  • Experience with the Security/Product domain.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range: $79,500-$132,500/year. Actual base salary varies based on factors including relevant skills, prior experience, education, internal peer salaries, performance, and geographic location.
