Contract: Temporary, Part-time, Internship

Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and creative Interior Design Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in supporting design projects from concept to installation, with a strong emphasis on sourcing, ordering, staging, and creating content for social media. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has a strong aesthetic sense, excellent communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in interior design, visual merchandising, or a similar creative field.
  • Strong working knowledge of design principles, materials, and furnishings.
  • Familiar with trade-only vendors and sourcing practices.
  • Proficient in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Comfortable on job sites and in studio settings.
  • Enthusiastic about design and social media trends.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if installs are part of the job).

Key Responsibilities

Design Support:

  • Source FF&E (furniture, fixtures & equipment), materials, and accessories in alignment with project concepts and budgets.
  • Communicate with vendors, request quotes, manage lead times, and track order statuses.
  • Assist in preparing client presentations, mood boards, and sample boards.
  • Help coordinate with trades and contractors as needed.

Procurement & Logistics:

  • Process purchase orders and invoices.
  • Maintain procurement trackers and update project schedules.
  • Coordinate deliveries, receiving, and returns with vendors and warehouses.

Staging & Installations:

  • Assist in staging and styling for project installs.
  • Organize and prep inventory for photoshoots or client walkthroughs.
  • Be on-site during installations to support logistics and ensure design intent is achieved.

Social Media & Content Creation:

  • Capture behind-the-scenes photos and videos of design progress, sourcing trips, and installs.
  • Assist with creating and scheduling engaging content across Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok.
  • Collaborate on visual storytelling that aligns with the brand’s voice and aesthetic.
  • Monitor trends and contribute creative ideas to grow online engagement.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with project management tools like Monday.com, Asana, or Studio Designer.
  • Styling or photography experience.
  • Knowledge of interior design software (SketchUp, AutoCAD, etc.)
