Job Description

The Director, Motion Graphics for CNN’s Video On Demand Streaming team will set the creative vision and lead the execution of motion design across all VOD streaming content. This role combines hands-on design with creative leadership, ensuring all motion graphics, animations, and visual elements align with CNN’s brand, storytelling standards, and the needs of a digital-first audience. The Director will collaborate with editorial, production, freelance, and technology teams to deliver innovative, engaging, and accessible visual experiences that enhance CNN’s streaming platform.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Motion Graphics, Animation, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in motion graphics design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in a digital or broadcast environment.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator) and 2D/3D animation tools (Cinema 4D, Vizrt, or similar).
• Exceptional portfolio demonstrating innovative motion graphics and animation for digital or broadcast platforms.
• Strong design, animation, and art direction skills with high attention to detail.
• Experience guiding and motivating creative teams, providing constructive feedback and managing projects from concept to completion.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functional teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong organizational skills and a commitment to quality, brand integrity, and creative excellence.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with streaming media workflows and digital content delivery.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards for digital graphics.

Compensation for this role: $136,500.00 - $253,500.00 salary per year, with additional rewards that may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
