Job Description
This is a remote position for a Senior Platform Performance QA Engineer. The role involves supporting the delivery of a large-scale, cloud-native internal platform designed to accelerate the development and deployment of software products. The platform provides application teams with self-service capabilities for infrastructure, data, service lifecycle management, application build and delivery, as well as operational services, deployed in a hybrid cloud environment spanning both private and public clouds.
Responsibilities
Performance Planning & Strategy
- Analyse and interpret non-functional requirements relevant to platform performance.
- Identify dependencies across platform components and services.
- Define performance testing strategies in line with system architecture and usage patterns.
Testing & Execution
- Set up performance and load testing environments and toolchains.
- Develop and run automated performance tests (stress, endurance, spike).
- Monitor system behaviour under load to detect bottlenecks and anomalies.
Reporting & Quality Assurance
- Document and report performance defects and scalability issues.
- Track resolution and revalidate performance-related bugs.
- Deliver detailed performance QA reports with metrics, trends, and risk assessments.
Requirements
Eligibility
- Residency in the EU or UK.
Must-Have Experience
- Proven experience in performance/load testing of network, backend, API, and web UI components within large-scale projects or programmes.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or Bash scripting.
- Experience in debugging and building applications in C/C++/Go/Java.
- Strong knowledge of source control, build tools, and CI/CD systems.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and containerised environments.
- Proficiency with JMeter or similar performance testing tools.
- Linux/Unix testing expertise.
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
Must-Have Language Skills
- Fluent English (C1 level or above).
Preferred Experience
- Experience with multi-cloud environments and cloud-native testing approaches.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, container orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Experience implementing or customising test automation frameworks.

Location: Remote (occasional travel to the client office in Germany required)
