Silent Anti-Hijack Buddy System – GPS Tracking & Alert Integration

Full Stack Developer is needed in Johannesburg, South Africa.

We are developing a vehicle anti-hijack system that works alongside existing GPS tracking units for our company, S and D. The main goal is to detect specific vehicle triggers such as ignition and door status, and then send disguised SMS or WhatsApp reminders to the driver. If not confirmed by the driver, alerts should be escalated to a nominated buddy with live location updates, and then to a control room if still unresolved. We require a full-stack developer to customize Traccar or a similar GPS tracking platform, set up trigger logic, and integrate with SMS/WhatsApp APIs (such as Clickatell or Twilio). The project also involves building a simple web dashboard for managing buddy alerts and escalation, ensuring compatibility with tracker I/O inputs like door sensors and hidden buttons. Candidates should have experience with GPS tracking systems (preferably Traccar), backend development using Node.js or Python, API integrations for messaging, and database management with MySQL or PostgreSQL. In later phases, there may be a need for basic mobile app work with Flutter or React Native. The work is for a single project with potential follow-up and may require on-site presence in Johannesburg, South Africa, with a hybrid work approach.
