Job Description
As a branded content and marketing Concept Development Art Director, you will create high-level campaigns and concepts that push creative boundaries, blending strong design expertise with conceptual art direction. Your passion lies in sports and comedy, and you are well-versed in current sports and ESPN trends. The role involves translating concepts into polished designs across multiple platforms and collaborating closely with other creatives to bring ideas to life.
Responsibilities
- Work with fellow creatives and report to a Creative Director to ensure creative output.
- Maintain the team’s creative vision for internal and external accounts.
- Collaborate with the production team to learn and apply production trends.
- Conceptualize innovative creative ideas that leverage your expertise.
- Develop client relationships and grow new business opportunities.
- Ensure brand consistency from tone, copy, and visual perspectives.
- Provide creative solutions that adhere to client briefs.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Stay updated on trends and themes across ESPN shows and sports in general.
- Continuously develop presentation skills.
Design Specific Responsibilities
- Translate conceptual ideas into visually compelling designs across various platforms.
- Demonstrate expertise in layout, typography, composition, and color theory.
- Ensure high standards of visual quality and brand consistency in all deliverables.
- Collaborate with motion designers, illustrators, and other creatives.
- Stay current on design tools, software, and emerging visual trends.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a creative studio or media organization.
- Outstanding portfolio demonstrating exceptional originality and multi-disciplinary thinking.
- Creative vision leading to impactful work.
- Ability to conceive campaign-able ideas scalable across various media.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Strong understanding of visual storytelling through scripts.
- Passion for sports and sports culture.
- Positive and collaborative attitude that fosters group culture.
- Proactivity in generating new creative ideas and strengthening client relationships.
- Strong time management skills for juggling projects.
- Confident presentation skills for pitching concepts to clients.
- Mastery of typography, layout, and grid systems in design.
- Ability to ensure brand consistency across deliverables.
- Experience adapting creative for cross-platform formats.
Required Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Portfolio School, or equivalent experience.
Compensation
The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $96,160 to $132,220 per year. The base pay offered will depend on internal equity and may vary based on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include bonuses or long-term incentive units, along with comprehensive benefits.
