Job Description

SimpsonScarborough is growing our freelance developer pool to deliver digital experiences that bring creative ideas to life. You’ll partner with designers and strategists as a creative developer to build responsive, accessible, and high-performing websites that balance creative vision with technical efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Build responsive, accessible websites from Figma designs using modern development practices.
• Collaborate with designers on feasibility, animations, and finding the best balance between brand expression and engineering efficiency.
• Build sites using traditional CMS platforms (WordPress, Drupal) and headless CMS setups (Sanity, Contentful).
• Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility, optimizing for performance and WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards.
• Conduct quality assurance and cross-browser testing to maintain functionality and performance.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of full-stack development experience, preferably in agency environments.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Tailwind CSS, and Alpine.js.
• Experience with Git/version control, traditional CMS (WordPress, Drupal) and headless CMS workflows (Sanity, Contentful).
• Strong understanding of accessibility standards and SEO best practices.
• Experience with React or Vue is a plus.
• Collaborative approach to working with designers on technical feasibility and creative problem-solving.
