Job Description

The Flexcar Co-Op Program is a 5 month paid temporary employment program.

Flexcar is looking for a Full Stack Engineer Co-op to help develop next generation applications across our entire technology stack for both internal and external facing requirements. You will be at the forefront of our growth and can be expected to highly contribute in the direction, development and release of our web and mobile applications using Ruby on Rails, React, and React Native. This is a great opportunity to come in and help build a product from the ground up during a pivotal growth phase!

Flexcar has a strong history of successful co-op partnerships, offering hands-on experience where participants take ownership of end-to-end features that enhance customer experience. They contribute code to production systems, drive project delivery and integrate into engineering teams as valued members. We prioritize individual growth through personalized mentorship and leadership development.

Requirements

What you’ll do:

• Design and build advanced applications using Ruby on Rails for backend services and APIs.
• Develop responsive web applications using React for internal and customer-facing platforms.
• Create and maintain mobile applications in React Native for iOS and Android platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features across the full stack.
• Work on bug fixes and improve application performance across web and mobile platforms.
• Ship code to production multiple times a day using our robust CI/CD pipeline.
• Participate in thorough code reviews to develop best practices and learn from senior engineers.
• Help write design documents for architecting new features and systems.
• Engage with Boston’s vibrant tech community through meetups we host.
• Experience modern development practices with continuous integration and deployment.
