Siege Media is a growing and remote-first content marketing agency recognized for its excellence in the industry and currently seeking a talented Freelance Copy Editor. The ideal candidate will help deliver high-quality content for world-class clients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, edit, and rewrite comprehensive copy on various topics within specific industry verticals with minimal supervision.
• Read copy to identify and correct errors in spelling, grammar, and syntax.
• Adapt tone and complexity of content for the intended audience and align with relevant style guides.
• Fact-check copy to ensure accuracy of dates, names, statistics, and facts.
• Identify ways to enhance the structure and flow of content.
• Act as the final stamp of approval on all assigned client copy.
• Implement feedback from clients and teammates effectively.
• Provide a solutions-oriented approach to enhancing clients’ online presence.

Required Skills

• Close attention to detail with a strong focus on AP style.
• Experience in writing and editing for the web, particularly with digital content such as long-form guides and infographics.
• Extensive knowledge of niche topics within health, legal, finance, and/or tech industries.
• Goal-driven with excellent prioritization, deadline management, and independent work abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills suitable for a remote working environment.
• Experience using Google Workspace.
• 2–3 years of experience in an editor role at digital publications, reputable news sites, or in an agency setting.

Suggested Skills

• 4-year degree in English, journalism, or a related field.
• Intermediate SEO knowledge with familiarity in using SEO tools to enhance client websites.
• Experience collaborating with design teams and advising on design and UX best practices.
