Job Description

WatchMojo is seeking a Freelance Video Editor to create and edit video content for its network-wide short content catalogue. This entry-level freelance position involves reporting directly to the channel managers. The main responsibility is to creatively edit content ideas for WatchMojo videos, which are vertical (9:16) and between 1 to 3 minutes in length.

Requirements

Applicants must possess the following qualifications:

• Ability to think creatively and out of the box.
• Proficient in creating vertical video edits using Final Cut Pro (FCPX) or Adobe Premiere Pro.
• Ability to create custom text, graphics, and overlays using the editing program.
• Solid understanding of memes, pop culture references, and vernacular.
• Strong knowledge of pop culture properties frequently featured on WatchMojo, including movies, TV shows, music, and nostalgia from the 80s to 2010s.

Extra Skills (Not necessary, but a plus):

• Basic knowledge of After Effects.
• Experience creating content for TikTok.
• Interest in appearing on-camera.
• Voice Over capabilities.
• Familiarity with AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Edit vertical and horizontal short-form videos for channels within the WatchMojo network.
• Exhibit creativity and comedic sense in editing and content creation.
• Take on content ideas and pitch new ones that resonate with the audience.
• Create short Metadata for completed video projects (training included).
