Job Description
The Instructional Designer develops online curriculum while employing working knowledge of current technologies to create high-quality, engaging, interactive, and effective e-learning products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, educational technology or closely related field
- Must be a resident of Illinois or Indiana.
- Two years of professional experience in instructional design
- Proficiency with video editing software such as Camtasia, Adobe Premiere, iMovie, or similar
- Experience with Articulate Rise (required) and Storyline (preferred) for e-learning development
- Strong skills in PowerPoint for course content and visual design
- Basic graphic design and multimedia skills (MS Office design tools sufficient; Adobe Creative Cloud a plus)
- Ability to transform technical or complex information into clear, engaging learning materials
- Strong writing and editing skills for course content and scripts
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially with formatting and version control
- Clear communication skills for working with trainers and the instructional team
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Flexibility to work on an as-needed basis during normal office hours.
- While the position is remote, must reside within the state of Illinois.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Characteristics, and Abilities
- Master’s degree in Instructional Design, educational technology or closely related field
- Three or more years of professional experience in online instructional design
- Two years of work experience with the Learning Management System, Canvas
Additional Information
Schedule: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., M-F (Flexibility is necessary to support the goals of the program.)
Worksite: Remote
Status: Temporary (Appointment ends June 30, 2026.)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week required.
Starting Wage: $38.46 – $43.59
