Job Description

Responsible for editing video packages which includes scripts for special content, politics, breaking news and special series. This may relate to important daily news coverage, franchise, feature, or special event coverage and documentaries. Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

Key tasks include transcoding and converting content for editing, formatting video, editing voice-overs, sound bites, packages, and shows for air, maintaining quality standards, conceptualizing story presentations, analyzing subject material, assisting in training new video editors, and using photo software for image modification.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge:

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
• Demonstrated knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro CC
• Ability to quickly troubleshoot technical issues with editing software and equipment
• Ability to read video scopes and audio levels
• Understanding of digital workflows and file-based delivery
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• Knowledge of operation and office policies and procedures
• Ability to handle various tasks simultaneously, organize, prioritize, make decisions and work efficiently and effectively under deadlines

Required Education:

• High School Diploma

Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years:

• Experience in news editing 2+
• Experience in long form/magazine/documentaries 2+

Preferred Education:

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Related Work Experience and Number of Years:

• Experience with Dalet newsroom software
• Write and speak Spanish preferred
• National news experience preferred

Working Conditions

Primarily inside in a climate-controlled environment. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements

Push/pull/maneuver equipment up to 50 lbs.

Additional Information

This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future. The base pay for this position generally ranges between $20.40 and $36.12, taking into consideration a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Certain positions may be eligible for additional forms of incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
