Bonifaz Productions - Freelance Assistant Video Editor - Social & Digital Content (Remote, Canada)
Video Editor is needed in Canada.
Client: Bonifaz Productions
Location: Canada
Contract: undefined
Job Description
Location: Fully Remote (Candidate must be based in Canada)
Rate: $30-45/hour (Freelance/Contract Position rate TBD on experience)
Reports to: Lead Cinematographer & Editor
My Organizational Co-Pilot: I am a busy content producer and cinematographer seeking a workflow wizard and proactive Assistant Editor to be my organizational co-pilot. I have built a Premiere Pro project template that standardizes our starting point, but I need a sharp, detail-oriented partner to own it, evolve it, and build upon that foundation. My primary focus must be on story, creative cuts, and client vision. Your role is to ensure that when a project lands on my “desk,” it’s as perfectly organized, prepped, and ready for me to dive straight into the creative work without as much friction as possible. This is a partnership where your efficiency and systematic thinking will directly enable higher-level storytelling.
Your mission will involve launching and adapting established project templates, managing media, creating deliverable frameworks, and executing polish on edits.
Requirements
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• 1-2 years of experience in an Assistant Editor, Post-Production Assistant, or similar technical role (non-official positions considered).
• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro is non-negotiable.
• Proficiency with Adobe Media Encoder is essential.
• Adobe Suite CC Subscription Required.
• Demonstrable experience with multi-format delivery (e.g., creating 9:16, 1:1, and 16:9 versions from a primary timeline).
• Solid experience with captioning workflows and basic graphics integration (Essential Graphics panel).
• A reliable, powerful computer and a fast, stable internet connection for remote work and large file transfers.
How to Apply
If you’re the organized, collaborative partner I’m looking for, please apply with:
- Your resume.
- A brief cover letter/email/message that specifically answers:
- “A project template gives you a head start, but every project is different. Describe a time you had to adapt a standard workflow to fit a unique project’s needs.” (If this doesn’t apply describe what you think this means and how you would approach it, you don’t have to delve too deep)
- “What does ‘understanding the cadence of an organizational structure’ mean to you in the context of video editing?”
- A link to your portfolio or a relevant work sample. Please clearly describe your specific role and contributions for each project you showcase. If you are a content creator, you may link to your content instead here as well.
