Job Description

As the YouTube Long-Form Editor (Vlogs) for the @JohnnyChangLive brand, you are the chief storyteller responsible for transforming hours of raw vlog, documentary, and behind-the-scenes footage into captivating, spiritually impactful YouTube videos. You will work directly with the Head of Content to set the quality bar for all narrative content, ensuring every video is a premium, on-brand, and emotionally resonant experience.

You are an owner and will be responsible for the entire vlog post-production pipeline, from sifting through footage to final polish.

Requirements

• Experience: 4+ years of professional experience editing narrative, vlog, or documentary-style content specifically for YouTube.
• Portfolio: Must provide a portfolio of long-form videos that clearly demonstrates exceptional narrative storytelling, pacing, music selection, and technical skill.
• Technical Skills: Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro; High proficiency in After Effects for motion graphics and text; Expert-level skills in sound design and music selection.
• YouTube Knowledge: Innate understanding of YouTube analytics, particularly audience retention graphs; must have a deep knowledge of YouTube as a platform and a passion for narrative storytelling.
• Software Proficiency: Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop), ClickUp (or similar PM tool), Google Drive & G-Suite.
• Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively across a remote team.
• Location: Added bonus if you are in Los Angeles, though not necessary.

Core Responsibilities:

• Narrative Video Editing: Own the post-production process for 1-2 complex, long-form YouTube videos per month.
• Creative Storytelling: Identify and structure the most powerful moments for maximum emotional impact.
• Brand & Quality Control: Ensure all content aligns with the brand and high technical standards.
• Asset & Project Management: Organize all project files and assets efficiently.
• Performance Analysis: Review video performance and extract insights for improvements.
• Collaborative Revisions: Efficiently incorporate team feedback with a positive attitude.

Compensation:

Phase 1: $1000-$1500 per delivered video (starting pay) with opportunities for performance-based increases.

Phase 2: Open to a monthly retainer fee if consistent success is shown within the first 60-90 days.
