Bonifaz Productions - Freelance Assistant Video Editor - Social & Digital Content (Remote, Canada)
Video Editor is needed in Canada.
Client: Bonifaz Productions
Location: Canada
Contract: undefined
Job Description
Location: Fully Remote (Candidate must be based in Canada)
Rate: $30-45/hour (Freelance/Contract Position rate TBD on experience)
Reports to: Lead Cinematographer & Editor
My Organizational Co-Pilot: I am a busy content producer and cinematographer seeking a workflow wizard and proactive Assistant Editor to be my organizational co-pilot. I have built a Premiere Pro project template that standardizes our starting point, but I need a sharp, detail-oriented partner to own it, evolve it, and build upon that foundation. Priority will be given to candidates who are passionate about Women’s Sports AND are LGBTQIA+ and/or BIPOC. In your message, include a small mention about what women’s sports means to you and why.
Your role is to ensure that when a project lands on my “desk,” it’s as perfectly organized, prepped, and ready for me to dive straight into the creative work without friction. This is a partnership where your efficiency and systematic thinking will directly enable higher-level storytelling, and hopefully, we can grow from there where you can take on more responsibilities.
Requirements
Your Mission: You won’t be starting from scratch, but you will be the guardian of our workflow. For a typical project, you will:
- Launch & Adapt: Start from our established project template and adapt it to the specific needs of each shoot.
- Tame the Media: Ingest H.264 footage, sync multi-camera angles, and ensure all assets are logically structured and labeled.
- Build the Delivery Framework: Create timeline variants for different platforms post picture lock.
- Execute Polish: Add captions, ensure logos are consistently placed, and perform basic audio sweetening.
We’ll Succeed Together If You:
- Understand Cadence & Nuance
- Are a Collaborative Problem-Solver
- Have an Eagle Eye for Detail
- Take Pride in Precision
Qualifications & Technical Must-Haves
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- 1-2 years of experience in an Assistant Editor, Post-Production Assistant, or similar technical role.
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro is non-negotiable.
- Proficiency with Adobe Media Encoder is essential.
- Adobe Suite CC Subscription Required.
- Demonstrable experience with multi-format delivery (e.g., creating 9:16, 1:1, and 16:9 versions).
- Solid experience with captioning workflows and basic graphics integration.
- A reliable, powerful computer and a fast, stable internet connection for remote work and large file transfers.
