JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Marketing Specialist (Temporary Role)

Position Department: A.S. Marketing and Communications

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Full/Part-Time: Part-Time (25-28 hours a week)

Compensation: $20-25.00

Reports to: Interim Marketing Manager

This is a temporary part-time non-student position responsible for supporting the Marketing and Communications Department by executing, analyzing, and optimizing marketing initiatives. Key responsibilities include oversight of digital marketing campaigns, social media management, analytics reporting, and benchmarking that informs strategy and team development. The role involves cross-campus engagement, advising student staff, and maintaining brand consistency across channels.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential Functions

  • Manage and monitor social media accounts, ensuring timely posting and brand alignment.
  • Track and analyze campaign performance and apply findings to enhance effectiveness.
  • Research and apply digital marketing trends and provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Collect and compile digital marketing data into actionable insights.
  • Maintain consistency between digital and print channels.
  • Attend staff meetings and support student staff and volunteers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience in social media management and digital campaign oversight.
  • Ability to train and coordinate activities of student staff.
  • Strong analytical skills and customer service ability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and basic design software.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Capacity to work independently and establish effective working relationships.

Required or Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in digital marketing coordination or campaign management.
  • Proficiency with social media management platforms and project management software.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.

WORK ENVIRONMENT, HOURS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • This job operates in an office environment with travel to event locations as needed.
  • Work hours are scheduled between Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evenings and weekends required.
  • Ability to operate a computer and lift or carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods.
