Furrtropolis - Content Creator (Pet Industry) – On Site at Dog Facility
Content Creator is needed in San Jose, United States.
Client: Furrtropolis
Location: San Jose, CA
Contract: Part-time, Freelance
Job Description
Furrtropolis is looking for a creative, energetic Part-Time Content Creator to bring our brand to life across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube. This is an on-site role working around dogs daily—filming them, capturing their personalities, and creating fun, engaging content for our community. If you love dogs, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and know how to create high-quality content that performs well on social platforms, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Capture on-site photo and video content of dogs during daycare, boarding, and grooming.
- Create fun, engaging, trend-driven short-form videos (Reels/TikToks/Shorts).
- Produce occasional longer-form YouTube content (behind-the-scenes, enrichment days, grooming transformations, etc.).
- Film and edit same-day content—quick turnaround is essential.
- Manage and schedule posts across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Engage with our audience by responding to comments, messages, and tags.
- Track and report basic analytics to identify high-performing content.
- Stay updated on pet trends, TikTok/YouTube trends, and new creative ideas.
- Multitask efficiently in a busy environment where many things happen at once.
- Capture content in real time while coordinating with staff and navigating an active dog environment.
- Occasionally assist during in-house events (pictures, videos, behind-the-scenes coverage).
Requirements
- Experience creating content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, or YouTube.
- Comfortable working in person around dogs of all sizes and energy levels.
- Strong filming and editing skills (mobile editing apps are fine).
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong time-management skills—content often needs to be captured and posted the same day.
- A creative eye for storytelling, humor, and capturing personality.
- Basic understanding of social media algorithms and current trends.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and stay focused in a busy setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in pet care, pet photography/videography, or animal handling.
- Graphic design or advanced video editing skills.
- Background in marketing, communications, or digital media.
Notes
- This is an on-site, hands-on role — not remote.
- Must be comfortable working around dogs daily (including energetic and large breeds).
- Part-time hours; flexible scheduling available.
Compensation
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
