Job Description

As a web developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining responsive websites and web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other appropriate technologies. Your role will involve translating UI/UX designs or wireframes into functional user interfaces, integrating back-end services when required, optimizing websites for various performance standards, debugging and troubleshooting issues, collaborating with team members, and maintaining documentation while following version control procedures.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience/training (e.g. coding bootcamp, self-taught with strong portfolio).
• Prior experience in web development roles (for intermediate- or senior-level positions).
• A portfolio of web projects (personal, freelance, open-source or professional) is often preferred, to demonstrate skills and craftsmanship.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (or equivalent modern standards).
• Experience with front-end frameworks or libraries such as React, Vue.js, Angular, or similar.
• For full-stack or back-end roles: familiarity with server-side languages or frameworks (e.g. PHP, Python, Node.js, Ruby, etc.) and experience working with relational or NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of web architecture fundamentals — client-server model, APIs, routing, sessions, security, etc.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git) for source code management.
• Experience with responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, accessibility, usability, and performance optimization.
• Ability to write clean, modular, maintainable code, and a mindset for testing and quality assurance.
