Job Description
The Proposal Writer will support competitive proposal efforts across federal, state, local government, and commercial opportunities. This remote, part-time contract role includes performance-based incentives tied to proposal milestones and contract awards. The Proposal Writer will collaborate closely with the Capture Team, Solution Architects, and Technical and Management Volume Leads to develop compliant, compelling, and high-quality proposal responses. The ideal candidate brings a proven track record supporting medium to large, complex bids, with strong writing, coordination, and process improvement skills.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related experience, including 3+ years as a proposal writer supporting federal, state, and local government solicitations
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience with U.S. Government (federal, state, and local) proposals; commercial experience is a plus
- Experience supporting written proposals, as well as video proposals, live orals, and/or demonstrations
- Proven record of contributing to high-quality, high-scoring proposal submissions
- Experience writing and supporting technical, management, transition, staffing, and/or past performance volumes for complex efforts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and collaboration skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong work ethic with a continuous improvement mindset
Additional Information
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop and document winning proposal solutions aligned with solicitation requirements
- Draft and support proposal sections including technical, management, past performance, staffing, and transition plans
- Analyze RFP requirements to ensure compliant, persuasive, and well-structured responses
- Contribute to win themes, discriminators, and solution strategies as part of a collaborative proposal team
- Conduct interviews with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary content
- Produce clear, concise, and compelling proposal narratives
- Support and implement process improvements to enhance proposal quality and efficiency
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Small, fast-paced open office environment with moderate noise levels. Use of phones and computers for extended periods of time. Utilize office equipment and communication technologies for conference calls and teleconference meetings/webinars. Requires general mobility to move through the facility. Ability to lift to 25 pounds. Frequent interaction with staff and customers via phone, in person, email, and other mediums. Normal sitting and standing activities for an office environment. Some travel may be required.
