Job Description

The OPS Video Editor & Digital Media Assistant supports the Dendritic Institute for Human-Centered AI & Data Science by leading all video production, editing, and digital media activities for the Institute and its educational programs, including the FGCU AI Academy. This position plays a critical role in transforming recorded academic content into high-quality, accessible, and engaging asynchronous learning materials and public-facing media.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for the following specialized duties:

Video Production & Editing

  • Edit all recorded video content for the Dendritic Institute, including:
  • AI Academy asynchronous courses
  • Training programs, workshops, and webinars
  • Promotional and outreach videos
  • Perform full post-production workflows:
  • Audio cleanup (noise reduction, leveling, removal of filler sounds)
  • Visual cleanup (removal of distracting facial movements, awkward pauses)
  • Strategic replacement of speaker video with slides, graphics, or visual highlights when pedagogically appropriate
  • Ensure consistent pacing, clarity, and professional presentation across all videos.

Digital Media Design & Visual Enhancement

  • Create and integrate visual elements such as:
  • Title cards, lower-thirds, and outro screens
  • Highlighted text, key concepts, and callouts
  • Branded graphics aligned with FGCU and Dendritic Institute standards
  • Assist in the creation of thumbnails, visual assets, and basic motion graphics for educational and promotional use.

AI Academy & Educational Media Support

  • Prepare platform-ready videos for learning management systems and online delivery.
  • Generate and review captions/subtitles to ensure accessibility and accuracy, particularly for technical terminology.
  • Organize video files, assets, and exports following established naming conventions and workflows.
  • Support continuous improvement of video quality and instructional clarity.

YouTube Channel & Public Media Management

  • Manage and maintain the Institute’s YouTube channel(s), including:
  • Uploading and organizing videos
  • Applying consistent titles, descriptions, and thumbnails
  • Ensuring branding and messaging alignment
  • Support dissemination of educational and outreach content through video-based platforms.

Other Duties:

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Digital Media Design (DMD) or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent).
  • Experience with digital media production, educational video editing, or online content creation.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and standard productivity tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with captioning, accessibility standards, or learning platforms is a plus.
