The Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) organization encompasses a diverse portfolio of mission-critical solutions that Boeing delivers to customers around the world. Our products advance our customers’ abilities to protect, connect, and explore from seabed to space with integrated mission-focused solutions.

As a member of the Quality Tools & Analytics team, the candidate will collaborate with cross-functional team members to solve complex problems using advanced data techniques. The candidate would support the Quality Decision Support System (QDSS), an integrated, web-based Single Source of Truth platform designed to support data-driven decision-making and cultural transformation by delivering scalable AI/Data platforms and high-value analytics products and services to the Quality and Supplier Quality organizations.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
• Must have experience with Spring Framework, REST, Java
• Ability to understand API specifications
• Experience in developing services (sync and async) using Microservices Architecture and Design patterns
• Experience in automated tests (Mock, Mockito etc.)
• Experience in working in SQL Databases with ability to model and write Stored Procedures - Postgres or MySQL or any other relational databases
• Front End web development experience in React JS, .NET MVC
• Demonstrated ability to work in an AGILE environment

Desired Skills (Preferred qualifications):

• Experience in GCP/Azure/AWS
• Domain experience in Aerospace/Navigation Solutions/Geo Spatial technologies
• Knowledge/experience in SAFe agile; pair programming etc.
• Knowledge on Android/iOS app development

Typical Education/Experience:
Typically, 3 or more years of related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degrees (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred but not required.

Position Responsibilities

• Proactively drives the vision for data foundation and analytics to accelerate building and improving cross-platform components, and defines and executes plans to achieve that vision.
• Conceptualizes and owns the data architecture for multiple large-scale projects, while evaluating design and operational cost-benefit tradeoffs within systems.
• Leads the design, development, and maintenance of complex and scalable data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources into our data platform.
• Builds cross-functional relationships with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to understand data needs and deliver on those needs.
• Determines and implements the security model based on privacy requirements, confirms safeguards are followed, addresses data quality issues, and evolves governance processes within allocated areas of ownership.
• Architects and implements end-to-end data integration, ETL, and data processing solutions that align with business goals and performance requirements.
• Optimizes and tunes data pipelines for maximum performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Influences product and cross-functional teams to identify data opportunities to drive impact.
• Applies proven expertise and builds high-performance scalable data warehouses.

Technical Skills

• Back End – Python, FastAPI, Java, Spring Boot
• Databases – SQL and No SQL
• AWS Cloud – EC2, EKS, Fargate, RDS, DynamoDB

Summary Pay Range: $147,000 - $171,800
