Job Description

This is a remote position.

  • Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
  • Contract Duration: 2 Months
  • Location: Remote

We are looking for an experienced 3D Godot Developer to help build Mythera3D, an AI-powered 3D world generation platform. This role focuses on procedural world generation, dynamic asset pipelines, and engine-side tooling to create rich, explorable 3D environments generated from AI-driven blueprints. You will fully own the Godot engine layer, while external systems interact with the engine via defined APIs.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize 3D world generation pipelines using Godot 4.x
  • Implement procedural terrain, object placement, and environment systems
  • Assemble and manage complex Godot scenes
  • Integrate externally generated 3D assets (GLB/FBX) into Godot programmatically
  • Build in-engine tools for object selection, editing, and regeneration
  • Implement player controllers, camera systems, physics, and collisions
  • Configure lighting, rendering logic, and shaders
  • Ensure performance, stability, and scalability for large generated scenes
  • Export and maintain WebGL builds
  • Debug and resolve engine-side errors
  • Maintain a clean, modular, and scalable Godot project structure
  • Expose APIs for external systems to trigger engine behavior

Critical Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Godot 4.x and GDScript
  • Proven experience with procedural generation and world-building systems
  • Strong understanding of 3D scenes, nodes, physics, and rendering
  • Experience managing 3D asset pipelines (GLB/FBX, materials, textures)
  • Ability to optimize large-scale 3D environments
  • Experience building editor tools or runtime utilities in a game engine
  • Solid debugging and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AI-generated assets or generative pipelines
  • Familiarity with terrain shaders, lighting, and atmospheric effects
  • Background in sandbox or open-world games
  • Prior experience in contract-to-hire or remote roles
