Job Description
Our client, an award-winning production company specializing in documentary films, is seeking a talented and experienced Video Editor to join their remote team. This is a fully remote contractor position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work on compelling and thought-provoking projects.
You will be responsible for assembling raw footage, cutting, and arranging sequences to tell a coherent and engaging story. Your duties will include managing media, performing rough cuts and fine cuts, adding music and sound effects, color correction, and ensuring final delivery meets broadcast or streaming specifications.
The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver, able to work independently and adapt to evolving project needs. You will have the opportunity to contribute to projects that shed light on important social, cultural, and historical issues. Requirements
We are looking for candidates with a strong portfolio showcasing exceptional storytelling abilities, a keen eye for pacing, and a deep understanding of narrative structure in documentary filmmaking.
Proficiency in industry-standard editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or Avid Media Composer is mandatory. Familiarity with After Effects or motion graphics is a plus. Excellent organizational skills are needed to manage large volumes of footage and project files effectively.
Strong communication skills are vital, as you will collaborate with directors and producers remotely to achieve the desired artistic vision. A passion for documentary storytelling and a commitment to meeting deadlines are essential.
