Job Description
The Times and The Sunday Times represent a combined 400 years of covering news and providing comment and analysis on the UK and the world. We are authoritative, credible, responsible, trusted and a part of the nation’s cultural heritage.
Your Role: The video department is looking for a proactive and creative Video Editor to manage the editing of all long-form and short-form video for The Sunday Style YouTube channel and website. The ideal candidate will have brilliant previous knowledge of editing similar lifestyle content, including interior house tours, beauty and fashion series, and celebrity interviews. You will work alongside the Head of Style Video to deliver four films a month and multiple cutdowns for YouTube shorts and The Times social channels.
Our ideal editor will have the ability to cover both editorial style videos and videos sold commercially by our in-house team.
Requirements
- A strong background in lifestyle editing for YouTube is a must.
- Ability to edit multiple projects at once to meet tight deadlines.
- Capacity to take initiative and be creative with editing styles and narratives.
- Willingness to work to constructive feedback from Video heads before sign-off.
- Full capability to edit in Premiere Pro.
- Great understanding of GFX, motion design, and upload requirements for YouTube.
- Ability to edit with a social mindset and highlight viral moments for our Times social channels.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills when working in a team.
- Good understanding of ‘The Sunday Times Style’ as a magazine and the type of talent featured, showcasing them effectively through editing.
