Part-Time Video Editor — Professional Athlete Personal Brand
I’m a professional ultra-endurance cyclist working on extreme projects around the world. I’ve broken 9 world records and work with a range of global sponsors.
My personal brand sits at the intersection of: Elite performance, endurance, commitment, vulnerability, and mentorship.
What differentiates my work is that it’s not just about performance — it’s about the human story behind it.
Up until now, I’ve edited all my own content. I’m now looking to bring on a part-time editor to take ownership of my personal brand content.
This is a role for a professional editor — not a beginner, not someone learning on the job.
The Role
⁃ Focus: Short-form cinematic Instagram content
⁃ Output: 3 videos per week
⁃ Time commitment: Approx. 1 day per week
⁃ Software: CapCut Desktop (mandatory) — you’ll be added to my Team workspace so I have full access to all projects
You will be responsible for:
⁃ Editing
⁃ Colour
⁃ Basic sound design
⁃ Music selection
⁃ Subtitles / captions
⁃ Light design elements where appropriate
I will:
⁃ Provide high-quality, professionally shot footage
⁃ Provide weekly themes/topics and guidance
Workflow & Expectations (Non-Negotiable)
I’m based in Spain (CET / CEST depending on the time of year). You do not need to be in the same time zone, but all deadlines are anchored to my local time.
⁃ Every Monday: I send all footage and briefs for the week
⁃ Thursday by 4:00pm (Spain time): First drafts of all edits due
⁃ I provide feedback via Google Doc by Thursday 8:00pm (Spain time)
⁃ One revision round only
⁃ Final versions due by Friday 5:00pm (Spain time)
Consistency, reliability, and hitting deadlines are essential.
Types of Content
Talking-to-camera storytelling pieces
→ Requires strong pacing, restraint, and B-roll selectionFast-paced / cinematic riding edits
→ Emotion, rhythm, atmosphere, energySponsor-integrated content
→ Not advertising — subtle, tasteful, story-driven inclusion
Creative Direction & Quality Bar
⁃ High-end, cinematic aesthetic
⁃ Emotionally driven
⁃ Clean, modern, premium
⁃ Strong consistency across all content
A critical requirement of this role is that the content stands apart from typical social or cycling content. Not through gimmicks or over-editing — but through:
⁃ Taste
⁃ Texture
⁃ Restraint
⁃ Subtle creative choices
⁃ Strong sense of pacing and mood
The work should feel one layer more considered, one layer more crafted, one layer more intentional than most social content.
The goal is that someone scrolling should feel:
“This is different. This is a cut above.”
Even if they can’t immediately explain why.
This is not just an ‘editing role’ — you are responsible for:
⁃ Maintaining the visual identity
⁃ Maintaining the quality bar
⁃ Maintaining the distinctive feel of the brand
You will help create:
⁃ An initial mood board / style reference pack
⁃ A shared asset library (LUTs, textures, music styles, pacing references, design elements)
Each video should feel consistent — but never templated.
The references below represent the level of taste, restraint, texture, and pacing I’m aiming for.
They are not meant to be copied — they’re included to communicate the feel, intent, and standard of the work.
What I’m drawn to in these examples:
⁃ Subtle texture and atmosphere
⁃ Strong control of pacing
⁃ Design that feels intentional but not “designed”
⁃ A premium, editorial feel that stands apart without being gimmicky
Reference examples:

If these references resonate with you — both creatively and emotionally — this role will likely be a good fit.
The Person I’m Looking For
⁃ A professional-level editor
⁃ Strong taste and strong restraint
⁃ Understands storytelling, not just transitions
⁃ Works independently and proactively
⁃ Brings creative ideas and solutions
⁃ Does not need hand-holding or micromanagement
Think of this as a junior creative partner, not a button pusher.
You should care deeply about taste, restraint, and small details — and understand that the difference between “good” and “great” usually lives there.
Performance Standard
This is a quality-critical role.
If quality, consistency, or reliability drop, this won’t work long-term.
Future Opportunities
This role may evolve into:
⁃ Long-form YouTube
⁃ Documentary-style films
⁃ Major project films
⁃ There may also be opportunities to travel to projects with me and the team depending on performance and how the relationship develops.
For now, the focus is: short-form, cinematic, high-end social content.
Selection Process
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a paid test edit using supplied footage before any long-term agreement.
