Job Description

Gorilla King Media creates polished, story-driven visual content for intentional, impact-focused brands, particularly in architecture, luxury building, design, and development. We are looking for a top-tier editor who can immediately start clearing a backlog of behind-the-scenes (BTS) edits, mixing BTS with finished project footage to tell the story of production. Your initial focus will be on editing multiple past productions where client deliverables are already complete, particularly turning BTS content into social media content for platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.

Requirements

• 2+ years editing in DaVinci Resolve
• Comfortable working with DaVinci Cloud collaboration workflows
• Strong storytelling instincts (ability to turn random BTS clips into coherent narratives)
• Confident with color and finishing, not just editing
• Familiar with social-first editing principles (hooks, pacing, retention, captions as needed)
• Reliable communication and self-management skills

Nice to Have

• Experience editing for architecture, design, real estate, or commercial production
• Advanced grading skills (node-based workflows, matching cameras, film emulation)
• Template building experience (reusable bins, timelines, export presets)
• Familiarity with caption workflows (Resolve, CapCut, Descript, or similar)

Responsibilities

Editing & Storytelling:

• Edit BTS content in DaVinci Resolve, using DaVinci Cloud
• Combine BTS footage with finished hero footage for clear story arcs
• Craft strong pacing, music sense, and emotional continuity
• Create platform-ready versions (9:16, 1:1, 16:9) with safe framing

Post-Production Craft:

• Solid color correction and grading (clean and professional)
• Audio cleanup and basic sound design
• Basic motion graphics/titles as needed
• Organized timelines and labeled deliverables

Photo Support:

• Cull and edit BTS photos in Lightroom
• Export final selects in agreed sizes/formats

Tools / Workflow

• DaVinci Resolve Studio (required)
• DaVinci Cloud (required)
• Lightroom (required for photo deliverables)
• We provide footage, finished project selects, brand context, and direction; you provide execution and editorial judgment.

Hours / Engagement

• Contract/Freelance to start
• Initial focus on BTS backlog projects, with potential for ongoing work weekly if it fits.

Pay

Pay ranges from $30–$50/hour, depending on quality, speed, and required revisions. Top-tier output will be compensated accordingly.
