Job Description

The Professional ICT Level 1 Team Leader will be responsible for providing strategic technical direction and managing multiple technical teams within the Application Development Department. This role focuses on the technical delivery of the full development lifecycle, including product features, support, and maintenance related to core applications. The position requires oversight to enhance efficiency, innovation, and people development.

Responsibilities Include

• Leading a team of web developers and providing guidance on technical issues.
• Designing and developing front-end and back-end web architectures.
• Maintenance and support of existing web and mobile applications.
• Participating in the design and development of new systems throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assisting the team in defining requirements and specifications to modify/enhance existing software.
• Development of new production software.
• Monitoring progress against timelines in collaboration with the Project Manager.
• Liaising with internal departments to resolve issues affecting software delivery.
• Managing planning processes to derive delivery timelines.
• Communicating business expectations to the team and relevant stakeholders.
• Ensuring adherence to quality standards throughout the SDLC.
• Designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting application features.
• Participating in activities that ensure successful use of systems.
• Creating development standards and architecture principles.
• Modifying existing programs as part of software maintenance.
• Managing software integration and API enhancements.
• Monitoring the performance of web applications.
• Setting tools and metrics for monitoring uptime and performance against SLAs.
• Implementing security standards within software solutions.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Documenting enhancements and modifications for maintenance purposes.
• Building and maintaining key business and third-party relationships.
• Empowering development team members to work across boundaries.
• Managing challenges related to resources and different development needs.
• Promoting team collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 6 -10 years relevant experience as a web and mobile development team leader.
• Experience leading in an Agile Development environment.
• Ability to support and guide a technical team in establishing priorities and managing deliverables.
• Strong customer facing and technical resolution skills.
• Able to positively influence peers cross-organizationally.
• Experience in all phases of systems development and implementation (SDLC phases).
• Solid project management and analysis skills.
• Team and customer service oriented.
• Ability to influence through leadership.
• Capability to write and maintain documentation, instruction, and procedure guides.
• Experience working with customers to correct errors and debug software and systems.
