Job Description
Production
- Lead all on-location shoots across Tennessee โ various indoor and outdoor settings including commercial facilities, private properties, and community locations.
- Direct and film the candidate direct-to-camera content in both structured and conversational formats.
- Film all employee interviews, community spotlights, and behind-the-scenes series content.
- Operate primary camera with an understanding of cinematic shooting for both long-form documentary and short-form social content.
- Manage lighting, audio, and on-location logistics independently or with a small crew.
- Capture B-roll across multiple Tennessee locations to support the full content library.
Post-Production & Editing
- Edit the hero documentary โ 5 to 7 minutes, narrative-driven, cinematic โ and all required cuts (60-sec, 30-sec).
- Edit all short-form reels optimized natively for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts.
- Edit full-length and short-form cuts of all interview and spotlight episodes.
- Add subtitles, text overlays, and graphics consistent with campaign visual identity (navy, red, white).
- Color grade all content to a consistent cinematic standard that feels authentic, not over-polished.
- Deliver platform-optimized exports โ correct aspect ratios, file sizes, and formats for each platform.
- Maintain an organized asset library of all raw footage, finals, and project files.
Collaboration & Workflow
- Work directly from the 30-day content calendar, delivering each asset on schedule ahead of its publish date.
- Work directly with the Chief Marketing Officer and the candidate โ you will have direct access to both and are expected to bring your creative instincts to every conversation, not just execute orders.
- Communicate proactively on timelines, creative decisions, and any production needs โ clear communication is non-negotiable.
- Take creative direction on tone, style, and narrative from the campaign team while contributing your own storytelling instincts.
- Participate in pre-production planning for each shoot, including location scouting and shot list preparation.
- Be available for fast-turnaround edits when campaign moments require same-day or next-day content.
Requirements
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven experience shooting and editing short-form social content โ understanding what stops the scroll on TikTok and Instagram Reels.
- Strong documentary or narrative storytelling skills โ ability to build an emotional arc in 90 seconds or 7 minutes.
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent professional editing software.
- Skilled in color grading, audio mixing, and subtitle/caption integration.
- Comfortable shooting run-and-gun in real environments โ industrial, outdoor, and candid settings โ without a full crew.
- Strong understanding of platform-native content: what works on TikTok is not the same as what works on Facebook.
- Ability to manage and deliver multiple assets simultaneously without compromising quality.
- Reliable, self-directed, and communicative โ ownership of your role is essential in this lean team.
Preferred
- Experience in political, documentary, or brand storytelling campaigns โ understanding how to use video to build trust, not just views.
- Experience shooting interviews and extracting powerful moments from unscripted subjects.
- Familiarity with Tennessee communities is a plus but not required.
- Motion graphics capability for text overlays, stat cards, and platform-specific graphic elements.
- Experience managing and organizing large raw footage libraries across long-form projects.
Additional Information
Duration
3 to 4 months โ March through June 2026, with potential to extend based on campaign needs.
Structure
Independent Contractor (1099) โ candidate responsible for own taxes and equipment.
Work Model
Hybrid โ on-site in East Tennessee for the full duration of the contract.
Travel
Travel to East Tennessee shoot locations required. Frequency varies by phase. Phase 1 is heaviest production.
Compensation
Competitive rate commensurate with experience. Rate discussed during interview process.
Equipment
Candidate must supply professional camera, audio, and lighting equipment capable of cinematic-quality production.
Deliverables
All final assets delivered in platform-optimized formats. Raw footage retained and organized by candidate throughout contract.
