Artist and performer Lily McMenamy is seeking a dynamic and experienced Producer to support the strategic development, production, and touring opportunities for her performance and theatre projects. The Producer will oversee all aspects of the international touring production of Lily’s solo performance ‘A Hole Is a Hole,’ handling planning, execution, and financial management of the theatre tour. Additional responsibilities include delivering upcoming commissions, general advocacy, and developing networks to support a sustainable future for Lily’s artistic career. This is a freelance role for an initial period of six months, with potential for further engagement. The Producer should have proven experience producing touring productions and developing interdisciplinary performance projects, as well as strong knowledge of theatre, visual art, and dance, with support provided by London Performance Studios.

Key Responsibilities
• Work closely with the artist to develop a vision and strategy for the future development and presentation opportunities for A Hole Is a Hole.
• Act as a central point of contact between the artist, booking agents, venues and festival organisers worldwide.
• Manage outreach and network development, cultivate new partners, and lead conversations with venues, partners and curators.
• Support the development and delivery of upcoming artistic and performance commissions, ensuring their longer-term and strategic development.
• Participate in industry and networking events to promote and advocate for the work.
Person Specification
• 5+ years experience producing interdisciplinary performance and theatre projects.
• Demonstrable knowledge of international touring for theatre and interdisciplinary performance.
• Solid network of curators, programmers, venues and institutions within theatre and interdisciplinary performance, ideally internationally.
• Experience in fundraising and financing for artistic projects from a range of public and private sources.
• Confident advocacy, negotiation, and artist and partner liaison skills.
• Passion for and interest in performance work at the intersection of theatre, visual art and dance.
• Budget management, production and administration skills.
• Proactive approach and enthusiasm for the role and projects.

£250-290 per day

Who are you, and what do you do?
Lily McMenamy is an artist, model and performer born in the United States and raised between Paris and London. She trained in Physical Theatre at L’École Jacques Lecoq in Paris and holds a Master’s degree in Performance Making from Goldsmiths, University of London. Her work has been presented with Isabella Bortolozzi Gallery, Bourse de Commerce–Pinault Collection, Cabinet Gallery, and New Theatre Hollywood. She is an Associate Artist at London Performance Studios and is currently pursuing a practice-based PhD titled Autotheory of the Model: Reembodying the Seen Woman.

About A Hole Is a Hole
A Hole Is a Hole is a solo physical theatre piece written and performed by McMenamy and commissioned by London Performance Studios and Bourse De Commerce – Pinault Collection. Drawing on clowning, mime and avant-garde theatre, the work follows a performer embodying more than 17 characters within a surreal, fragmented narrative. Moving across settings including the art studio, a haunted forest, a nightclub and the theatre stage, McMenamy explores the relationship between subject and object, creator and creation. Blending comedy and confrontation, the piece combines satire, autobiography and physical expression. Visually striking and emotionally charged, A Hole Is a Hole reveals layers of the performance of self and what lies beneath.
In 2024, A Hole Is a Hole was presented at Bourse De Commerce – Pinault Collection, London Performance Studios, New Theatre Hollywood, and Galerie Isabella Bortolozzi during Berlin Art Week. Press coverage for the work includes Cura Magazine, Vogue and Spike, among others.
