Job Description
Position: Social Media Video Editor
- Location: Remote (US time zones)
- Position Type: Part-time, contract or hourly
- Hours: Up to 20 hours/week
- Reports To: Social Media Manager
We are seeking a fast, smart video editor who can transform interviews, events, and educational content into high-performing short-form videos suitable for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and more. The goal is to make complex topics like concussion and CTE accessible and engaging to a wider audience.
Requirements
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience editing social-first video content or a strong portfolio showcasing high-quality work.
- Proven ability to edit efficiently and consistently.
- Strong instincts for pacing, narrative, and clarity.
- Expert-level captioning workflow (burned-in captions + readable formatting).
- Comfortable working with mixed footage: phone video, Zoom interviews, event cameras, archival clips.
- Able to handle sensitive topics with care and accuracy.
- Organized, responsive, and reliable.
Tools & Skills
- Proficiency in Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve (CapCut also welcomed for speed).
- Experience with templates, motion graphics basics, and simple audio cleanup.
- Familiarity with platform trends without chasing gimmicks.
- Bonus: ability to create simple animated charts, timelines, or explainer visuals.
Content You’ll Edit
- Athlete stories and lived experiences
- Research and clinical trial explainers
- Event highlights and soundbites
- Myth vs. fact / quick science breakdowns
- Calls to action: education, community resources, and research participation
How We’ll Work Together
- You will receive raw footage, a clear goal for each video, and brand guidance.
- We will collaborate on a weekly basis (batching encouraged).
- We value speed but never compromise accuracy for clicks.
