Job Description
Scott Stamp LLC, publisher of Linn’s Stamp News and Scott Stamp Monthly, is seeking a contract editor to coordinate the weekly editorial production of Linn’s Stamp News. Linn’s Stamp News has served the stamp collecting community for nearly a century and remains one of the most respected publications in the hobby. This role requires someone who understands philately and can work effectively with writers and contributors within the stamp collecting community.
Responsibilities
- Plan the weekly editorial lineup and maintain the publication schedule
- Assign and edit articles from contributors and columnists
- Edit regular columns and feature submissions
- Write short news items as needed
- Coordinate weekly issue production with the layout designer
- Review and proofread final pages before publication
- Maintain communication with writers and contributors
Qualifications
- Editorial experience in journalism, publishing, or specialized media
- Knowledge of philately and stamp collecting is required
- Strong copyediting and organizational skills
- Ability to manage deadlines for a weekly publication
- Experience working with freelance contributors is preferred
Compensation
Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
