Job Description

Are you a talented and reliable video editor with a knack for storytelling and a passion for law enforcement content? We’re looking for more than just someone to cut footage — we want a creative partner who can help shape and deliver mini-documentary-style videos that grip viewers from start to finish.

We run a fast-growing YouTube channel that focuses on real police bodycam footage, turning raw, unfiltered moments into captivating stories with commentary, context, and care. Our videos blend the intensity of real-life encounters with thoughtful narration and narrative flow.

Requirements

You MUST Have:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects is a major plus)
  • Proven experience editing YouTube-style content, especially personality-driven or documentary/story-based videos
  • Strong storytelling instincts: you understand how to pace, build narrative arcs, and maintain viewer engagement
  • Excellent communication skills — clear, collaborative, and open to creative discussion
  • Reliability and ability to take initiative; you’re not just waiting for direction — you’re helping shape it
  • A solid understanding of law enforcement — the more you’re into it, the better

Job Responsibilities

  • Edit raw police bodycam and related footage into engaging, structured YouTube videos
  • Craft strong narratives: pace scenes, build tension, and keep viewers hooked
  • Add motion graphics, text overlays, and effects using Premiere Pro and After Effects
  • Work closely with our team during pre-production: help brainstorm, outline, and script video stories before editing begins
  • Suggest creative shots, narrative structure, and content angles
  • Guide and contribute to creative direction from concept to final cut

Not a Good Fit If

  • You just want to be handed a folder of clips and told what to do
  • You’re not interested in shaping or contributing to the story before editing begins
  • You’re not comfortable with intense, real-life footage from police interactions
